I have a laptop that came with windows 2000 installed on it. It is compatable
with XP so I installed a 120 day trial pack. it was going alright, but the
operating system didn't matter for what I use my laptop for.
Well as it happened the CD drive kicked the bucket and by the time I got a
new one the 120 days were up and it wouldn't let met me past the welcome
screen. It told me that I need to install XP to use the computer, which is
understandable. I borrowed tan XP CD form a friend in the hopes that I could
get it reinstall windows 2000 once I got to the desktop.
It didn't work. I cant figure out why. Does anyone know why?

Well,
You cant see the desktop again.. But if you wanna bacup your files use some
DOS Bootable disks or BartPE and copy to another location.. Windows will
never let you down grade.. So the only chasnce you have is backup files
format and reinstall
