Windows XP wont boot - Wireless Optical Office

D

Dave Hughes

Can anyone help.
I have been running Windows XP for some time with a PS2
mouse and keyboard.

I have just bought a Genius Wireless Optical Kit (USB
connection). Unfortunately Windows XP won't boot up
unless I also have my old PS2 keyboard plugged in. It
just keeps resetting itself and trying to re-boot.

Once Windows is running the Genius wireless kit works
great and I must say how impressed I am with it, lovely
to use, but I don't want my old PS2 keyboard sat on top
of my PC!

I've checked in my BIOS and 'USB keyboard' is enabled.

Not sure if problem is with BIOS or windows / drivers?

Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Dave.

Dave, go back into the Bios and set the hard drive as first boot device.
In the power options section disable anything that suggests booting from
keyboard or returning from standby with keyboard.

Thanks for your help, tried all that still the same.
USB enabled in BIOS and USB keyboard enabled in BIOS,
also tried them disabled but still the same...

Anyone have any other ideas?
Thanks, Dave.
