windows xp : windows media player lag

hi,
I have upgraded windows me to windows xp pro, the upgrade went fine
although i had to uninstall a few application that worked in ME and
will not work in XP. After the upgrade, i ran movie (avi format) from
cd-rom in Windows Media Player, the movie shows a significant lag and
is very irritating.

i wonder is it a windows xp upgrade issue or a windows media player
issue ?

Any ideas are appreciated.

Updated the Video Driver and problem solved.
I was able to run movie from DVD-Drive for 5 hours continously without
any lag in Windows Media Player.
