Windows XP/ Windows 2000

I recently upgraded my operating system to Windows XP and loaded Windows XP
office into the system. Now I can't access the previously existing files in
my system that were created in Word 2000.

Even though I've loaded XP office in, can I still load in Windows 2000 so
that I can access the files?
 
If I understand your question correct, you dis an upgrade from windows2000
to windowsxp as well as en upgrade from office2000 to officexp.

Reading office2000 documents using office xp should not be any problem.

Installing word2000 will not help, I'm afraid.
