Windows XP will not start.

I recently found that my computer will not start, when I first turn on the
computer I am asked to start in safe mode, last best config, normal
mode..etc. I ahve tried everything and when the screen comes up it is black,
and has the cursor in the middle of the screen. Is there anything I can do or
a computer repair store can do?

thanks

this happens now and then to people but what is need is sometimes just a
repair install.
Other times a new hard drive is needed.

In other words yes a computer repair store will be able to diagnose and
repair the problem fairly simply. Good Luck,
