Windows XP Updates

I never had this problem before. After I scan my computer
for critical, XP and device updates, I hit the ''read
now'' to view the updates before installing them and
nothing comes up. I do see a little flash, like a window
trying to open but nothing happens after that. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

windows updates have no relation with "little flash"
update your video driver.Look at the event viewer for any
application error.
open control panel > administrative tools > event viewer
