Windows XP Updates - Known Issues?

Hello,

I have 2 newish PC's, one with XP Pro + SP1, and one XP Home + SP1
Having just gone on DSL Broadband I want to update both PC's

The update shows me an extensive list of updates for both PC's

Are there any current known issues with the updates?
It could take me long time to research each update.

Any comments/pointers would be very much appreciated.

General advice:
Do not install ANY driver updates.
Only install critical security updates and only do one or a few at a
time and try to keep track of which ones they are in case one of them
breaks something.

David, most certainly do the critical updates. The others are as
needed.

I guess the bit by bit approach allows a degree of fallback,
If one of them should give any problems.
I will certainly take "Drive Image" before I start.
