Windows XP Update - different language

Andrew Shepley

I have a factory installed version of windows 98 SE on my
machine for which I do have the product code. I have
bought a Windiws XP home edition update disk from a shop
in Zurich, where I live. The only problem is that the
Windows 98 is installed in English and the update is in
German. I knew the update was in german and dont mind
working in German, however the update wont install. I cant
do a clean installation as I dont have a disk for the
Windows 98 as the computer came with a compaq restore
disk, which does other things as well as installing the
window 98.Have I wasted my money, even though both of
these products are legal? Can anyone out there help?
Thanks.

The only thing you can do is to try and get your money refunded
for the upgrade version, then purchase the "full version" and perform
a "clean install".
