Windows XP to Win 2000

I

IndiaSingapore

I have installed Windows XP Professional edition. I have
pentium III 300 MHz. with 384MB Ram. 20 GB HDD.

My Computer is vwery slow. It takes a seconds to even
display the my computer screen. Starting and shutting
takes more than 3 minutes.

I suspect it is due to my processor.

I would like to know the cause for this. else

I would like to downgrade to windows 2000 prof.edi.

I would like to have the existing softwares/programs on my
C drive.

Is it possible to downgrade without formatting the HDD
and . Having Dual OS will make the COmputer very slow.

Windows 2000 (like other windows versions) ONLY supports UPGRADES from
previous versions like 98/NT4. The versions do NOT support DOWNGRADE...

1. Bite the bullet & reinstall or
2. UPGRADE the motherboard & CPU to allow you to run XP without
problems...After all you meet all requirements to run XP BUT the CPU speed
is a bit on the SLOW side...Upgrade to an AMD K7 or Intel P4 board...
