Windows xp "System Shutdown" message

D

David Hoopingarner

Upon starting up the xp operating system a window pops up
with the following message:

SYSTEM SHUTDOWN
The system is shutting down. Please save all files, etc...

NT Authority\System has shut the system down. The Remote
Procedure Call (RPC) service terminated unexpectedly.

Then the system restarts automatically in 1 minute.

you got the rpc worm that was big a few months back.....
probably need to find and erase msblast.exe, plus remove the entry from the
registry...

Really?! That /is/ unfortunate! Now, if you'd bothered to spend the time it
took to post searching for an answer you wouldn't be clogging up the group
with a question that's asked about once an hour!

Don't be so bloody lazy and do some damned research! We're not here to wipe
your arse for you - if you're old enough to use a computer, you're old
enough to do that yourself!
