windows xp startup

After the windows XP Home Edition screen goes off my
monitor goes black for almost 1 minute then the welcome
screen comes on and startup continues. I tried running
my recovery disk but it didn't help. I have an Emachines
computer. Please help.

I have occasionnaly the same problem. I then delete my Internet
Browser's cache and things come back to their normal bootup speed. If
this could be of any help.
