Windows XP startup

I'm the only user on my computer but ever since I updated Framework 2.0 I
need to select a user (which I'm the only one listed) before I can continue
with the startup. Is there some other update I need or a patch or a box I
need to check (or uncheck) to start my computer directly? I have tried
different settings in the Users section of the Control Panel but nothing
seems to work. Please help this is annoying.

2.0 seems to be a problem with xp,however thier is a hotfix for it #913047
To start the troubled pc,simply tap the F8 key on start up,select safe mode,
enter xp as administrator.XP actually runs better with another user
configured,
even if youd rarely use it,or one should run the pc on a limited account.
