Windows XP Startup is LAGGING

My computers startup time takes forever. Now i think it may not be windows because the hard drive takes a while to spin. here is my stats

Pentium 4 1.8 gh
512 MB Ra
100 Gig

What is your definition of "forever"? Which drive and how do you know it
"takes a while to spin"? If it is being recognized at POST it is spinning
up quick enough, and if not some bios versions can specify a delay. Are you
having other problems once Windows is booted? Which version of Windows?
Much more info needed.
