I recently had to reformat my hard-drive and re-install
Windows XP Home. Since then, during start-up and prior to
Windows loading, I receive the following message:

"Please select the operating system to start.
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlighting to
your choice.

Seconds until highlighted choice will be started
automatically: 25

For troubleshooting and advanced start-up options for
Windows, press F8."

The first listing of M/S Windows XP Home Edition is the
correct one. The second one is fragmented.

My question is, how can I configure Windows to auto load
the O/S with out going thru the requirement to manually
choose.

Thank you.

Start | Run | Type: msconfig | OK |
