Windows XP Spanish

I have loaded my PC with Windows XP Progessional Spanish.
I loaded all the Windows Updates and Services Packs using
Windows Update. Now my OS is not Spanish, but Portugues.
How do I get Spanish back without format and reisntall?
What can I do to avoid this again?

In the future, before going to Windows Update make certain Spanish is at the
top of this list:

IE Tools>Internet Options>General>Languages>Language

If you have occasion to visit Portugese-language versions of Microsoft
pages, also delete all Microsoft cookies from your Cookies folder before
going to Windows Update.
