Windows XP SP3 "refresh"

I don't think I've seen a "refresh" beta build.

Is this a new designation or has Microsoft used it in the past?

Just curious.

It is not a new designation. Not all pre-release software appears as a
refresh, however. Sometimes the first release candidate is the only one
released. I have seen many refresh drops for both beta and release
candidate software builds. Beta testers on Connect and MS partners see
these refreshes frequently.

Thanks for the info, Colin.

The last time I was a beta tester was for Windows 95.
Just myself and 800,000 of my closest friends.
I got a T-shirt and a CD Writer from Microsoft.

I got a free retail product key for Vista Ultimate for testing Vista beta.
Alias will probably say that I should've held out for the T-shirt, but I
enjoy Vista. :)

Good thing you didn't get the T-Shirt. You wouldn't want everyone
laughing at you while you walk down the street with it on :-)

I got a Vista t-shirt and wear it proud. At least this one is black, not
like the white t-shirt I got with XP. The black holds up better.

My DOS 5.0 t-shirt was white and didn't last very long <g>

OS/X 10.x T-shirts only last about 18 months. Linux T-shirts about six
months. :)
