Windows XP SP2 Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) Error 10

I'm trying to forward some ports to this new computer. I've set up a static
IP, DMZ, static DHCP, and port forwarded, but it still isn't working, so I
don't think it's the router. I found the svchost process running in the task
manager, but the security system isn't on and isn't in the tray. I tried
turning on the firewall so I could allow the port I needed. I got the error
"Windows cannot start the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)
service." When I tried manually starting the process, I got the error,
"Could not start the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)
service. Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been
marked for deletion.". I'm thinking that the firewall is blocking the port,
but it isn't registering or something so I can't change it. Anyone have any
ideas of how I can get this to work? Thanks.

Seems to be blaming it on a dependancy. Go to the dependancy tab and see what
the service is dependant on and try to start that service until you find the
bad service marked for deletion.

I get the error "Interface: Class not registered". This actually happens if
I check most of my services.

I checked some third-party sites, I'm missing the SharedAccess service, any
way I can get this without reinstalling Windows?

Can someone please help me? It's been a week and I haven't gotten a
reply.

You haven't gotten a reply since there just isn't enough information to
give you focused troubleshooting. You may want to consult a local
professional. In the meantime, here are some suggestions:

1. Make sure the computer is 100% virus/malware-free. If the computer is
not clean, that would explain why so many of your services are missing.
Here are general steps to check:

2. If you have a router, you should not be using ICS. Disable ICS and
assign a static IP address. There is no such thing as "static DHCP".
Are you trying to use this machine to host games? Putting a machine in
the DMZ is risky and not recommended. However, if the operating system
is damaged and/or not clean, there is no point in worrying about this
until the OS is repaired.

3. If the machine is completely free of viruses/malware and you still
have services missing, then back up your data and do a Repair Install.

It would be good to know what changed between the time the computer was
working (had all its services) and the time it didn't. The answer to
that will help focus your troubleshooting efforts. For instance,
perhaps your RAM or hard drive is bad and the issue isn't software at
all. There is no way for me to know.
