John

ive a new installation of XP SP2, and recently installed
anti-Spyware, run a check and deleted off aload od
registry entries, since then, when i startup my firewall
doesnt work, i cant open the firewall settings and just
states an unspecified error, there is no Firewall/ICS
service so i cant share my internet connection either, ive
tried uninstalling SP2, and re-installing, however this
hasnt helped, is there a way i can just install the
firewall software and service and enable ICS??

Thanks

John-
Please let me know if you figure this problem out. I
installed the new beta Microsoft anti-spyware on my 2
home networked computers. Both computers are running XP
sp2. The internet connection isn't an issue, but I also
can't turn on the firewall on 1 computer. The other
computer doesn't have any issues. I checked the Windows
startup configuration (msconfig)and noticed that some of
the add / spyware had embedded itself there as well, so I
unchecked those items. That seemed to help for a few
minutes after a reboot, but the firewall turned itself
off again.
