Windows XP SP2 Download Problem

Enrique

Hi,

Well this morning I turned on the computer and I was told
that there were new updates to download (I recieved this
message from the little globe titled "Automatic Updates"
that pops up at the bottom right-hand corner on the task
bar). I right-clicked it and it said that SP2 was ready
to download. I clicked the button that said "Download"
and then the globe dissappeared. I waited for about
20minutes and nothing happened. I wasn't prompted for any
installation or anything like that. What's going on? Is
the program downloading in the background? I have no icon
telling me how much is left to download or anything like
that. Did something go wrong with the download that I'm
not aware of? By the way I'm on Verizon DSL if that
helps. Also I checked the Download manager and there was
nothing there. Please advise on this issue Thank you.

The same thing happened to me this morning. I rebooted the PC, and
the Automatic Updates icon appeared in the systray, saying it was
downloading something. It's been an hour now, and the download percentage
is still 0%. I realize Microsoft's servers are being strained by this huge
download, but that still seems a tad slow, especially for a cable modem.

I clicked on mine 5 hours ago...and the icon says Downloading
updates:0%. I cannot open it or close it. What and why is this?
Rebooted a few times and same thing.
