Windows XP Slowing Down

We have some laptops and PC's which slow down alot as
soon as I put them on our Domian, they have p4 2.0ghz
256mb ram or better with XP Pro.
can anybody please tell me why this happnes and give me
some solutions ?

Hello.
I've had this happen with various systems. It
usually has to do (I think) with how integrated the
network connection is into the Windows XP operating
system. Basically, everything waits on the network until
it either works or times out. This is a real pain on 10
base T networks. There's probably a way to reduce the
timeout, and additionally it would be a good idea to have
the client computers stop trying to automatically detect
stuff over the network. Otherwise, they'll constantly be
trying to find printers, shares, etc. and make everything
go slower while they do so.
