I have a new DELL PC (2 weeks old) with windows Xp SP2 media centre. I am
noticing a sudden extreme slowness in all stages of the shutdown process.
This problem is affecting shutdown only. I have run updated nortan anti
virus, spyware, adware, defragmented the drive, scandisk, and windows update.
Nothing seem to solve the problem. The issue only doesn't arise when I
shutdown the computer without performing any tasks. I have had a look at the
event viewer are there are some error signs but I don't understand what they
mean. My first thoughts are that it has something to do with the wireless US
robotics USB adaptor that I have recently installed.
