Windows XP / Shared Network Drives / Latest Security Patches

We have a Windows XP machine hooked up (wired) to a Linksys Wireless
Router, which in turn is hooked up to our network. Since the lastest
security updates last week from Microsoft, the computer can no longer
connect to the domain / server when connected to the router. I can
connect to the internet, ping the server and other computers on the
network, use Remote Desktop to get other computers on the network, but
cannot connect to shared folders on the network / the Windows 2000
Server. Once I take the router out of the loop I can then get
connected to the domain, and subsequently the network shared drives.
Our main network's ip addresses are 192.168.2, and off of the wireless
router its 192.168.1. Other than that I don't know. I'm sure there's
a setting that was changed during the security patch installs either on
the server or the Windows XP machine, but I don't know what it would
be. And with so many patches having been installed last week, it's
hard to narrow it down. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What exactly happens when you try to connect to a network resource on the
domain?

Just one question; why do you have a wireless router, rather than a wireless
access point? Sounds like you may have the wrong kit for this task.
