No, they haven't. This is what they are calling a "Technical
Preview." It is not yet the release version and undoubted still
has problems, perhaps even serious problems.

Especially when it comes to operating systems, it makes no sense
to install pre-release software, unless you have a spare machine
that you'd like to play with it on. To install it is to look for
trouble. If you'd look at the Microsoft site containing the
download, they tell you essentially the same thing: "This
technical preview is unsupported and is intended for testing
purposes only. Do not use in production environments."

For The Faint Hearted.

Yes, but it's worse that "not for the faint-hearted." It's really
not for anyone except those who have an extra machine and are
interesting in testing and playing with it.

You should download and read this document BEFORE you install the SP2 beta
preview.

Do not install this beta software unless you are willing to format your
system to recover from disaster. Beta does not mean better, it means "not
fully tested" or "not ready for prime time". Beta software CAN cause
irreparable damage to the system, proceed with extreme caution.

Exactly. I Have Three Hard Drives. One With SP1 And One With SP2 Testing Only, & One To Play Around With. I Have A Software Program Called Wipedrive 3.0 With DOD (Department of Defense) Standards. If Anything Goes Wrong Then I Just Reinstall. Thats It, Its That Easy. For Thoughs Of You Who Don't Have Many Hard Drives, Then I Suggest To Use Extreme Caution While Installing. Microsoft Would Not Let This Be Public If It Don't Feel It Was Stable. So Far I've Had No Problems, Except That This Pop Up This Comes Up In The Build 2082 Which Said "Debug". I Just Ignore It. It Had Not Affect On My Computer. For Those People Who Are MVP, Those People DO NOT WORK FOR MICROSOFT! They Are What You Call Resellers (Third Private Parties)

Hi Karl,

It's very difficult to read your posts when you capitalize the first letter
of every word. It's almost as annoying as using ALLCAPS. Could you please
use a normal text mode? Thanks.

And apart from anything else - it will have a limited life to a time
bomb. So you *must* have a means, like an image, of restoring the
machine to present state before you will be able to install the final
RTM version. Or have a machine that you would be happy to format and
start over clean at that time
