Windows XP Service Pack 1

I am running Windows XP Home and realise today that I have
never accessed Windows Update and find that there are may
updates that I need to download. My main concern at this
time is that I need to install Service Pack 1 and as I am
not on Broadband, this will take may hours to download.
Does anyone know if I can get Service Pack 1 on CD.

Do not use Express Installation.
You can order Service Pack 1a CD from:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/servicepacks/sp1/ordercd.asp
http://www.microsoft.com/uk/windowsxp/servicepacks/sp1.asp
Or:
Download the Network Installation from here: (be sure to select the
correct language)
Also select "Windows XP Professional and Home Edition" Do NOT select
64 bit.

DSL takes about 20 minutes, if you do not have high speed access, get
a friend to D/L SP1a for you.
Then burn it to a CD and keep for the future.

Then:
Install Rollup 1 for Windows XP (includes most post Service Pack 1
Critical Updates up to about 15 October 2003)

Be sure to check for other Critical Updates when finished.

Thanks for the help so far. I would like to get a copy of
the SP1a on CD, but the link only refers to users in US
or Canada. The link for International users dos not seem
to work. Any idea where I can get it on CD in the UK -

Hi

Sadly, the UK order link on the MS UK web site is removed
(http://www.microsoft.com/uk/windowsxp/servicepacks/sp1.asp), but it is still
listed here:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;en-gb;winxpfaq&product=winxp

That page also states that you can call 0870 6010100 (MS Technical Support in
UK) to place an order of the CD.
