Windows XP repair

First of all, thanks to all of you that helped get rid of
the nasty bug that disabled my antivirus and spyware
detection.
After having used HijackThis and CWShredder, I machine is
almost back to normal with 3 remaining problems.
Problem 1.
Every time I use my registry cleaner, I get a reocuring
problem.
HKEY_Local_Machine\software\microsoft\IMAPI\StashInfo
C\Windows\Temp\StashImapi.bin....does not exist.

Problem 2.
I cannot open a notepad file in C\windows and windows32
When I try, it tells me that it can't find File.exe
Notepad.exe is in both places.
Problem 3
Prior to this invasion, my registry tweaks ( which are
still intact) allowed windows to shut down in 5-6 seconds.
After this invasion and cleaning job, it takes 3 time
longer for shutdown.
General question.
Can Windows XP HE be repaired by booting up with the
Windows XP cd and use the repair option ? If so, what
other if any changes will occur ?
