Windows XP reinstall??

My son tried to download a new driver for the graphics card and the computer
froze during the download. When he restarted the computer there was no
graphics. What can we do to fix this problem?

Someone suggested reinstalling Windows, but it came with the computer and we
have no reinstall disk.

Go to safe mode (tap tap F8 before start up..
Do last good configuration or system restore..
 
Will this remove what's stored on the hard drive?
