SIS-760

My m0ther board is SIS-760 Serial No: WLWP53203838 and my OS is XP Home.
Due to a virus I had to reinstall windows and therefore lost all my original
drivers, since then I have reinstalled most of them but the onboard sound
driver still eludes me.
I have used driver detective and driver scanner to no avail, I have also
been to the manufactures web site SIS.com and downloaded the Audio drivers
SIS 7012, SIS 7018, IGP Graphics Driver SIS 66x/SIS 76x & SIS 67x. None of
those drivers installed correctly, XP reported code 28 and -536870397
(although those drivers were listed under XP).
Please Help!

Did you run their chipset scanner under support?

What you have is a mobo with a SIS 760 chipset....name of motherboard would
be helpful.
Maybe the manufacturer is not using that chipset for audio???
I suggest you go to Device Manager and uninstall the device and then reboot
and let it get redetected...maybe XP
will even load the correct drivers..
Did you get rid of the Virus before you reinstalled XP?? or how did you
reinstall??

I partitioned the drive and formatted both partitions before reinstalling XP.
