I have encountered an inordinate number of problems with my hardware in trying to obtain an internet connection which turned out to be a corrupt usb connection due to a faulty motherboard. As a cosequence I have reinstalled my OS so many times that MSoft advised that I had exceeded the threshold in order to deter piracy. I contacted MSoft and went through a painless process and all is well. However, I would like to reinstall the OS again because XP has partitioned my drive as FAT32X which by all accounts is not compatible with Partition Magic and Disk Image! Will Msoft allow me once again to re-register or do I have to purchase another OS disk. Please excuse any naivity.

all you can do is try. or contact microsoft again. if you explain the situation to them they might decide to let you. it's really too hard for someone to say. gl though.

Can't you install Partition Magic and use it to repartition the disk on
the fly? I always have used PM to change partitions without problems.
Naturally, back everything up, just in case.

Partition Magic and Drive Image are fully compatible with FAT-32,
FAT-16, and NTFS. However, if may be to your advantage to use NTFS on
the drive depending on its size.

As for activation, there is no limit on the number of times you may
activate. Even though it's a royal pain, you can call MS and receive
a new activation code.
