Ok, so recently I had a HDD failure and purchased 2 new drives. I start
setup and it all seems to go fine, it gets to the final stages of setup, the
GUI part where it has the estimated time remaining and such. At the end of
this, when its just about done, at 1 min remaining or so, it just reboots as
if I had pressed the reset button.

Then, from the reboot, it tries to start windows, and at the black load
screen, after about 7 or 8 seconds, it reboots again, exactly as before. It
then boots to the safe mode/normal start up selection screen, which I then
tried safe mode, and it goes down a list of text addresses, to a file called
mup.sys, which is stops for about 7 or 8 seconds, and then reboots again.

Any ideas of the problem? This is the same disc as my previous
installation, using the same hardware, except for the HDD's, which appear to
be working fine.

Are these SATA drives or IDE drives?
If they are IDE, then try swapping the new drive as primary and try
installation on that one. If they are SATA, I would start by updating
the MOBO Bios.

One more point. If they are IDE, make sure you change the jumpers on
the drives to master/slave as appropriate.

They are SATA drives. However, I just noticed they are 3gbs drives, whereas
my old drives were the old 1.5gbs drives, that may have something to do with
it, although, my mobo book says it supports 3gbs SATA. I'll look up the
latest BIOS and try that.

Thanks for the reply.
