Windows XP proffesional Help with installing

[Need Help]

I upgraded my windows 98 to windows XP proffesional, it
installs in for a bit then it says it needs to reboot, so
i let it reboot, then it continues to install
to "Preparing Installation" when "preparing installation"
finished it just reboots again, i have tried it about 10
times but the results are exactly the same. the big
problem is that i deleted windows 98 when upgrading to
XP. can someone please help me, thancks
