I had Windows Xp installed and the hard drive crashed. Now
I want to reinstall it on a drive that has Windows Me
operating system. It has several folders that are working
okay. I purchased a new Microsoft wireless keyboard and
mouse. The system requirement is either Xp or Professional
2000. If I install XP will I still be able to open and use
the rest of the files and folders. I use Printmaster and
office Professional.
Thanks

If your Windows XP is a retail version that came in a blue (Pro) or
green (Home) Micrsoft box then there should be no problem installing
it on that hard drive, provided there is sufficient free space (at
least 1.5 gb and preferably 2.5 gb).

If your Windows XP is an OEM version that came in a shrink-wrapped
package and was purchased with a new computer or some item of computer
hardware then it will not install as an upgrade to an existing version
of Windows.

Hope this explains the situation.

Good luck
