How do I change the operating system for Windows XP to
Windows 98?

Unless you installed XP as an upgrade of 98 and saved the old system
files, and have not changed to NTFS (if all of those, look for Uninstall
Windows in Add/Remove) you will need to do a backup of data and then a
clean install:

Boot the 98 startup floppy
Run FDISK (Saying Y to 'large disk support?') and

delete the XP partition (DOS or Non-DOS depending on whether it is FAT
or NTFS)

Make a new DOS Primary one

Reboot,

FORMAT C:

then go to the Win98 CD and run
SETUP
