Please help me someone, I turned on my computer today and Windows won't
start up (I have Windows XP Professional). I get a message saying "Windows
could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\windows\system32\config\system" I tried to repair (a suggested on the
screen) using my XP CD-ROM, but nothing happens when I put the CD in ... I
don't know what to do...I'm not really good with technical problems...and
It's back to school .... Help! Please.

Try removing and then putting the XP-Pro CD back in and then reboot. The CD
should boot your system and let you do the repair. If not, reply back here
for some more ideas (perhaps your CD drive is failing, for example, or your
BIOS is not set to boot from a CD).

Thanks a lot for your help... I followed the steps and everything is working
again execept for a few files i lost ... I had to set BIOS to boot from
CD-ROM and then the CD worked fine and I continued with the steps... Thanks a
million!
