Windows XP Problem

Guest

I periodically get this "serious Windows error":

C:\DOCUM~1|TIMOTH~1\LOCALS~1|Temp\WER3375dir00\Mini081905-03.dmp
C:\DOCUM~1|TIMOTH~1\LOCALS~1|Temp\WER3375dir00\sysdata.xml

What's causing it and how I can fix it?

Thanks!

Well, I don't know but have you run any virus or spyware detection programs?

Have you checked the Event Viewer to see if any errors are showing up?

Is the message exactly as you typed with the | or did you mistype?

If you have an ATI RADEON video adapter...
Computer stops or continually restarts with ATI RADEON video adapter
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;318023

C:\DOCUM~1\TIMOTH~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER3375dir00\Mini081905-03.dmp
C:\DOCUM~1\TIMOTH~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER3375dir00\sysdata.xml

Mini081905-03.dmp is the dump file from the error.

There will also be a
C:\DOCUM~1\TIMOTH~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER3375dir00\appcompat.txt

C:\DOCUM~1\TIMOTH~1\LOCALS~1\Temp is a temporary folder. Empty it.

The appcomp.txt file is created when there is a conflict between programs,
drivers, etc. It is a reporting file used when uploading error reports to
Microsoft.

If you do not want to see appcomp.txt again, disable Error Reporting.

Open System Properties...
Start | Run | Type: sysdm.cpl | Click OK |
Advanced tab | Error Reporting button | Check:
Disable Error Reporting | Check: But notify
me when critical errors occur | OK | Apply | OK

Disable Error Reporting
[[Select to disable error reporting. When this option is selected, error
reports will not be generated.]]

But notify me when critical errors occur
[[Select this option to have Windows notify you when a critical error
occurs, even if you have disabled Error Reporting.]]

Hope this helps. Let us know.
