I have Windows XP Pro at home and it has never been part of a domain.

I am trying to get into the security settings and I only get very limited
options.

The Pro systems at work I can get a lot more information.

How do I get that level of security from my system at home?

have you turned off simple file sharing? (In Explorer go to Tools-Folder
Options-View and scroll right down to the bottom). If you do that, when you
right-click on a file or folder and choose Properties, the Security tab
appears....
