I want to know whether on a single system both windows xp
home and pro can be installed. Though only windows xp pro
is necessary and the reason why Iam asking this is,I have
xp home on my system now.How can I install xp pro, and do
I have to uninstall xp home or not?

Thanks.
Kamarapu.

If you create another partition you can have both installed at the same
time. but it you do it this why you need to purchase a full version of
Windows XP Professional and not an upgrade. If you buy an upgrade you will
overwrite the XP Home with Pro.

While it would be *possible* - in separate partitions - there is no
reason at all to do so. Pro is only the same as Home, plus some extra
facilities. If you need those (and don't bother unless you do), then
get a retail Pro Upgrade CD (*not* one of he so-called OEM Full
versions) and run it from the Home to upgrade that

For the differences, consult
http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxp_home_pro.asp
and don't waste money unless you see a 'Pro only' Item that you are
*needing*
