Hi,

I'm buying a laptop and i would like to run Windows XP Pro on this but the
developers only install Windows Vista. No problem for me because i can
install it myself. Now I'm hearing that they are still testing the Penryn
cores together with Windows XP (PRO). Does Microsoft has an answer for this?
Can we run Windows XP (PRO) on a Penryn core or is it still to unsure to say
something about it?

Kind Regards,
Typhoon

The issue would be drivers for XP. If the manufacturer of the computer is
only providing Vista drivers then you should not install XP natively. You
can always run XP in a virtual machine using VPC 2007 and I would suggest
that you do it that way anyway.

I've got the message that their will be drivers for XP as for Vista delivered
with the notebook. They also tell me that the only problem they have noticed
so far (Very slow after stand-by) will be solved with the new SP for Windows
XP. And some other users told me it worked pretty well for them so i think
i'll try to do this also.
