windows xp pro substitutes dial up networking password

can some one help xp pro substitutes a password (unknown) every time I try
to set up a new internet account with the wizard on my already existing
internet account I brought the computer second hand and suspect that it may
be set some where in the registry but dont know enough abuot xp pro to get
rid of this rogue password and yes I have tried setting up the new account
several times each time xp over rides what I put in with the wizard

Hi Paul,

By default XP sets 16 characters as your password, no matter how many it
should be. This is for security reasons.

To remove previous entries go to: Start/Run/Regedit and delete the info
listed here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Profile
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Addresses
