Help,
Windows XP Pro startup problem.........
I asked this question earlier and got a response, but it
didn't work so I am asking again with a better
description of the problem this time.......
When I turn on my computer it starts to boot normally
with access to the bios screen, but then it goes into a
screen that states windows did not start successfully and
gives some choices, they are:
1. safe mode
2. safe mode with networking
3. safe mode with command prompt
4. last known good configuration
5. start windows normally
I can select number "1", "4" or "5" from above and the
computer will go into blue screen wanting to check the
file system on c: and it runs through and finds no
problems and then just restarts the computer and goes
back into this problem all over again of going to the
windows that states did not start sucessfully screen...
or I can select numbers "2" or "3" from the list above
and it starts to run through loading drivers but stops
and waits a few seconds and then restarts the computer
and goes into this problem all over again of going to the
screen stating did not start sucessfully...
I have not changed any settings or added any new software
or hardware recently.
I was thinking maybe it could be my hard-drive having a
problem, but it was, it wouldn't run through checking the
file system on c: and state no problems found, would it?
(sorry, I'm a rookie)
Any ideas of what may be causing this or a solution? I
would be very thankful for any help.
Thanks,
Glen.
