After a few weeks of trying to find out why my Win XP pro
machine will not stay connected to the net while idle I
believe the problem is the computer is loosing connection
with the NIC. If I go to network connections disable then
enable it is restored. I have a Win 98 on the network that
is solid. Could it be the mother board going bad? Or am I
missing something. It is a new router and a new card.
Would you try a different slot? Thanks.

Sammy

If you look at the configuration of the network connection for your NIC,
there is a setting to allow the NIC to go to "sleep" to save power. Try
unchecking this and see if it helps.

OK I will try, Thanks, Sammy
