windows xp OS repair

MyTask scheduler doesn't work in automatic. HP Support recommends an OS
repair from my CD. When in the repair section it asks for "which
installation would you like to log onto." This is in DOS so I'm totally lost
- do not know what to do. Anyone have a very detailed procedure I could
follow.
 
don't you think you should be asking HP tech support?
