We are a small business that uses a 3D CAD package called Mastercam.
This morning I updated this software by using a downloaded file. I did this
on one computer without any problems. I then tried it on another computer
and I thought everything also went fine but when the user came in and logged
onto his computer none of the desktop icons were there. We could also not
use the Windows+E button to bring up windows explorer. The only thing that
would come up was the Task Mananger. It would seem that the update is the
reason for the problem, since the computer worked fine yesterday, but how do
we remove it if we can't access the computer? What else can we try? Our
CAD software supplier has not gotten back to us and we could really use the
computer. If it helps we are on a domain network with one small business
server. Users log onto the server with a username and password. I
installed the update as the administrator of the local computer and
restarted the computer when I was finished. If anyone has any ideas I would
really appreciate the help since I don't know much about resolving issues
with computers.
Thanks,
Mike
