Windows XP Networking Access Permissions

When I use the Help, this comes up:-

To grant incoming connection access rights to your computer
Open Network Connections.
Click Incoming Connections, and then, under Network Tasks, click Change
settings of this connection.
On the General tab, do one or more of the following:
Under Incoming connections, in Devices, click the check boxes next to the
devices through which incoming connections can connect.

When I open Network Connections, there is no icon or button labelled
'Incoming Connections'. When does this not appear and how can I progress
from here?

Greetings Perplexed,

Open the Network Connections and click on the network connection. When you
click on the network connection, the "Change settings of this connection"
link under Network Tasks should appear. However, this just brings up the
Network Connection Properties and you can do this also by right-clicking and
choosing Properties.
