Windows XP Movie Maker

Can anyone tell me why the movie that I have finished and saved to CD-R will
only play sound in Windows Media Player? When I saved it it wrote to the
disk as a WMV file.

First guess would be that you don't have the correct settings applied in
Media Player for the video.
