Can I create a video of a stll shot/image file?

I imported a couple of tif files into Windows Movie Maker and dragged them to
the timeline. I stretched them out over 20 seconds and added some
text/titles.
Then I saved it to my computer. It saved as a .wmv file.
But when I select it to play (in Windows media player) a box pops up and
states:

......Not a valid Windows Movie Maker Project file.....

Can you tell me why/help me?
Thanks

Windows Version?

Movie Maker version?

Windows Media Player should play a .wmv movie file.

Try creating a project with .bmp or .jpg files and let us
know if you have the same result.

Also...Photo Story 3 is a better app for creating Video
Slide Shows.

PhotoStory 3 For Windows

or...
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/photostory/default.mspx
(yes...it will run on Vista but not Win7)

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

I have Windows Movie Maker v5.1 and Windows Media Player 9.0
I tried a .bmp and it states "not a valid Windows Movie Maker project file'
Same results. Any suggestion other than "photo Story 3"?

Thanks again

5.1 would be your Windows XP version...2.1 would
be your Movie maker version.

Just wondering...what's wrong with PhotoStory 3?

Ok...are you positive that you are saving in the WMV
movie format and not the .mswmm project file format?

Try the following steps to save your movie:

To save as a .wmv movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Tick...'Best Quality For My Computer'
Next/
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

Now you will have a WMV file that should play in
Windows Media Player.
