I have been running Windows XP Media Center edition on an emachine T3096
computer for the last 9 months. All of a sudden I am having problems with
the Media Center. When I start media center I get the following message
"Media Center Host Module has encountered a problem and needs to close" the
Error signature in the problem report is a follows.
EventType: clr20r3 P1: ehrec.exe P2:.1.2600.2180 P3: 41107d79
P4:ehcir P5: 12a P8: 50 P9: System.missingfieldexception.
The MYTV screen comes on and plays live TV for about 10 second then stops
with a message "Play to continue" I click play and the TV plays the same 10
second content then stops again.
Additionally, the guide will not automatically download, and when I try to
force it I get the following error message
"ehshell.exe Common Language Runtime Deugging Service
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled Process
ID+0x81c(2076), Thread ID=0x70(112)
Does anyone have any ideas? Is there a way to reinstall the Media Center
portion of XP without losing the other stuff on the Hard drive? Any help
will be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Hugh Epley
