windows xp loses second hardrive

I installed a second hard drive and everything went
fine. Now every so often, windows loses the second hard
drive and I have to reinstall "hardware" and it works
fine for a while. Any ideas on how to get windows xp home
edition from losing the drive?

sounds like a hardware issue.
Flaky drive, cable or controller.

Exactly what happened to my second drive. Would be there, then it wasn't.
Eventualy the hard drive gave up on me completely before I had a chance to
back it up!! Back it up now before it's to late!! It's not an IBM Deskstar
by any chance?
