Windows XP looking in wrong directory for desktop background files

I have Win XP Pro XP3, and as a result of trying some changes to fix another
issue with the Quick Launch bar, now when I go to change the background image
for my desktop (wallpaper), the selections are not coming from C:\WINDOWS as
they are supposed to, but from another directory on my PC that contains
pictures (.jpg and .gif). It's not even looking for bitmaps.

How can I force the OS to look in C:\WINDOWS? I've checked everything in
the desktop properties screens/tabs and cannot find anything there. There
must be a registry key that controls this option.

Thank you.

The original pics are in \\Windows\Web\Wallpaper.

So, right click on the desktop select properties.
Desktop tab.
Hit the browse button, and select the folder,
Windows\Web\Wallpapers.

Thanks. DId that. No change. All the graphics files from the other folder
with my pics are still in the drop-down.That's the issue, I want it to only
list the XP files.

Windows also thinks your "my pictures" folder is a viable place for
desktop backgrounds. I had some 200 choices.

I found the registry key with the path. The path is set to
\Windows\Web\Wallpaper, so I have a feeling I need to reboot for it to take
effect. I'll update this after rebooting.
