Windows XP logon on Win2k domain

I recently had to configure a private network with Windows 2000 Server as
PDC and Windows XP Professional as the client machines.
I noticed Windows XP is taking much longer, about 60-90 seconds, to logon on
the domain than the usual Windows 2000 Professional clients I used to work
with before. The W2K Server is properly configured as both WINS and DNS
Server, and this problem occurs either with local or roaming accounts.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Do you have the Preffered DNS and WINS server settings on
your XP clients pointing to your local DNS/WINS server? Do
you have NetBIOS over TCP/IP enabled? It sounds like the
XP client machine is having name resolution problems,
possibly due to unresolved broadcasts. If your Preffered
Server settings for DNS or WINS isn't pointing to your
DNS/WINS servers, this can happen. Hope this helps.
