Windows XP login Screen

I have windows XP Professional on my lap top computer. When I start the
computer and the log in screen appears, it shows that I have unread e-mails.
Sometimes as may as 30. But when I open outlook express, there are no
unread e-mails in any of the folders.

Why is this happening? How can I correct it?

Download and install TweakUI:

Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP (TweakUI)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

After installing, go to Start > Programs > PowerToys for Windows XP >
TweakUI. Expand "Logon" and uncheck "Show unread mail on Welcome screen".

Note: Unread message alerts may indicate you have unread messages not only
in Outlook Express, but Hotmail and/or MSN email accounts as well.

Carey,

I tried to follow your instructions but when I expanded the login thingy
there was no such box to uncheck.
What have I done wrong?
